Ex Soccer Coach Charged With Lewd Acts on Minor
Javier Arrioja, 49, a former soccer coach in East Los Angeles was convicted Thursday September 6, 2012 of molesting a 14-year-old boy who played on the team he coached.
There was two hours of deliberation before the jury found Arrioja guilty of four counts of lewd acts on a child and one felony count of sending lewd and offensive material.
Arrioja molested the 14 year old boy at four different times between May and November 2011 at his home and local parks while coaching the child and showed him a pornographic video.
Arrioja had been a coach in the area for more than 15 years and coached an under 17 years old soccer team.
The allegations came about when the boy told deputies that he had been touched by the coach inappropriately in the coach’s car and his home.
Having committed these sex crimes, Arrioja faces a maximum sentence of five years, eight months in state prison when he returns September 25th for sentencing.
