Kevin Pezeshki, 44, was a gynecologist who took his job maybe a little too far.
Pezeshki allegedly had improper contact with two female patients during examinations. As a result of a plea agreement, the charges involving the second patient were dismissed and a no contest plea entered for the sexual battery by fraud charges involving the first patient back in 2008.
Pezeshki was convicted of the sex crime in Van Nuys Superior court and fortunately for Pezeshki his Los Angeles Sex Crime Defense Attorney was able to avoid imprisonment as part of the sentencing because a conviction for sexual battery can result in one year jail if charged as a misdemeanor and up to 4 years in state prison if charged as a felony not to mention to excessive fines that are involved.
There are many factors taken into consideration such as whether violence, fear, or threats were involved and whether a prior criminal record exists. In trying and sentencing Pezeshki, all these factors were taken into account.
Pezeshki was ordered to complete one year of psychological sexual impulse counseling, serve three year probation, and to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life as required by California Penal code section 290.
