Hawaiian Singer Arrested For Molesting Two Minors Back in 1990s
Cecilio Rodriguez, 67, a Hawaiian singer part of the group Cecilio and Kapono, pleaded no contest Friday January 27, 2012 to sexually molesting twoCarsongirls in the 1990s while staying with their family duringSouthern Californiaconcert tours.
Rodriguez was ordered to serve a year in jail and to complete 52 weeks of sexual offender counseling and five years probation.
The judge suspended a six year state prison sentence that Rodriguez will not have to serve if he complies with the terms of the probation.
The charges involved the molestation of one girl who was 7-8 years old from 1996 to 1998, and her older sister who was 8-9 years old from 1997 to 1999.
One of the sisters recently told her father what had happened after refusing to go toHawaiito see Rodriguez in concert.
Rodriguez was arrested in September of 2010 and must surrender March 9 to begin serving his jail term.
