Los Angeles Deputy Faces 17 Felony Counts and 13 Years Prison
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy is facing 17 felony counts involving sex crime with a minor.
John Rose, 43, who once had won his department’s Medal of Valor for rescuing a woman trapped in a cabin by a wildfire, was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15 year old girl multiple times.
He has pleaded not guilty to having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Allegedly Rose had some sort of on going relationship with the minor for 4 months and unless his Los Angeles Criminal Attorney is able to build a strong defense on his behalf, Rose faces 13 years in prison if convicted of all 17 counts.
He has been placed on unpaid leave and the judge called him a danger to the community and set bail at $605,000.
Sex with a minor is considered statutory rape and consent is irrelevant. The sex crime is serious and does not only result in imprisonment but also lifetime sex offender registration as required by California Penal code section 290.
