Man Facing Felony Sex Crime For Groping Women in Public

Matthew Andrew Linville, 19, is facing sex crime charges and is being accused of groping four different women in different public locations in Orange County.

One incident occurred while one of the victims was jogging and Linville allegedly attacked her to the ground.

The other three incidents occurred in the Burlington Coat Factory at the Bella Terrace shopping center in Huntington Beach, in the parking lot at the same shopping center and in the parking lot of the Hoover Golf Center in Westminster.

According to authorities, Linville was an employee at the mall where some of the attacks occurred.

The victims reported the crimes to the Huntington Beach Police Department and the Westminster Police Department and Linville was arrested Wednesday by Huntington Beach police.

Sex crimes of this sort are becoming more and more common and situations are being exaggerated and identified as “sexual battery” or “sexual assault”. Our Los Angeles Sex Crime Attorneys are aware of all the tactics and we help those facing sex crime charges.

Linville is facing one felony count of false imprisonment by violence and four misdemeanor counts of sexual battery. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration as required by California Penal Code section 290.
