Man Sentenced to 50 Years in Federal Prison

Maurice Hunt, a 35 year old man who lives in Fresno was earning a living but by no means in a conventional or legal way.

There was not a release of too much information, but after some investigations and leads, Hunt was arrested when he was accused of pimping a 13 year old girl.

The case was taken to trial in federal court.

The prosecution alleged that Hunt forced the minor to runaway from home, have sex with different men for money, and then he would keep the earnings. Every time the girl asked to go home, Hunt would beat her.

Hunt represented himself. He did not use the assistance of a public defender or a Los Angeles Sex Crime Attorney.

The jurors unanimously found Hunt guilty of six felony counts, including sex trafficking and witness tampering back in August.

When convicted, Hunt showed up to court in a wheelchair wearing nothing but underwear.

He was sentenced Monday October 28, 2013 by U. S. District Judge who says the defendant took the dignity of a young girl.

He was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison.
