A member of Cecilio and Kapono, one of Hawaii's most popular musical groups, has pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles County Superior Court to sex crime allegations. According to a criminal complaint, Cecilio Rodriguez,66, is charged with committing lewd and lascivious acts in Los Angeles County with a child younger than 14.

According to a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County attorney's office, the victims are sisters and reported the crime to the Sheriff's Department in June.

According to the criminal complaint, the first incident allegedly occurred between Nov. 6, 1997, and Nov 5, 1999. The second incident occurred between May 6, 1996, and May 5, 1998.

Cecilio and Kapono, also known as “C&K,” was formed in Oahu's North Shore in 1973. The duo has been on tour in California.

According to the department's booking records, Rodriguez was held in the Los Angeles County Jail instead of $200,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct.13 at the Compton Courthouse.
